Job Description:

The Associate, Institutional Sales & Service position will direct and execute critical tasks within the institutional sales group, which delivers optimal service and improves client retention and growth for Alger’s institutional client base.  The role will assist in preparing client presentations, completing monthly and quarterly client reporting, responding to client requests, and providing detailed analyses to satisfy client and firm needs.  If successful in this role, it is expected that over time, the Associate will have an opportunity to develop relationships and provide consultation directly to institutional clients and consultants.  The Associate is expected to develop strong knowledge of the Alger process, institutional client portfolios, and investments in general to communicate effectively and accurately to clients regarding performance and account attribution. The Associate will also assist senior members of the team in the acquisition of new business through market research, coordinating sales campaigns, and securing new business meetings with consultants and prospects.  In addition, it is expected that the Associate will continue their professional education. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop proficiency in various software capabilities that assist in providing client and strategy information (including FactSet, eVestment, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Focus on Process Innovation: Consistently strive to improve processes and data flow to better serve clients and help streamline the sales process.  Develop new, original, and innovative ideas to meet client needs.  Demonstrate awareness that our customers enable us to thrive as a business

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree and ideally more than 3 years of experience in client service, sales, operations, portfolio management support or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above in a 4.0 scale
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 preferred (if not, successful attainment required after hiring)
  • Institutional asset management experience is preferred
  • Advancement towards the CFA designation or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred, but not required

Compensation: Base salary anticipated to be $90-120k, plus discretionary bonus and outstanding benefits
